Wow – I’m envious, I gotta admit. I would suggest you get in touch with a nursery supply company to get the supplies you’ll need. Presumably that would include everything – benches, containers, soil, hoses, fertilizers – the works. Check online for suppliers near you – and enjoy!!

The warm weather to come back, sheesh it snowed in Malibu today. Really, they are not hard to start up, just put what ever plants you want the green house. Read up on what will grow good a certain tempuratures (orchards require higher temps then say roses) and keep the humidity up you should be fine.

We have a small greenhouse business just going into our second year. We’ve found that the most important thing you can have is patience. That aside, you’ll need a way to heat and a way to cool. If you aren’t heating it up your cooling it off. Secondly, available water, critical. Fertilizer, liquid based, learn what needs it and what doesn’t. Watch out for mold or damp off. Don’t water on cloudy days, big mistake made by newbies. Keep a thermometer inside and outside. Don’t be afraid to discourage rodents. If you get soil gnats check with your local professionals on methods to erradicate. Most of all, have fun!!!!!! Enjoy!

Not hard. Shelving, misting, thermometers, electric, different gadgets depending on what you want to do. One source I use is charlie’s greenhouse. It’s a greenhouse supply company. But there are alot of others also. If you get a catalog, just by reading about all the stuff they have available, you’ll learn and find what you need. Then, just shop for the best price.

I think that depends on what you want to do. I just started using mine last fall. I think that heating, watering and ventilation issues come first. I used a plastic utility shelf for my benches. One part has two shelves and the other has three. It has slots on the shelves so water does not sit and if I spill something it just runs to the floor. There are many greenhouse companies, my favorite is Charley’s Greenhouses, go to their website and you can order a catalog for free! It also gives good tips! Good luck to you!!
