Is building a small green house and growing / selling potted plants to local nurseries a lucrative business?

Question by yeildsign: Is building a small green house and growing / selling potted plants to local nurseries a lucrative business?
I have worked at a garden center for 5 years during which I have learned a lot about plants and the inner workings of the nursery business. Recently I have been considering building a small green house and selling plants locally. If I wanted to make this worth my while… How big does the nursery need to be? About how many plants do I need to grow? And what types of plants have good mark-up value and are fairly easy to grow? Any and all advice welcome! Thanks for your help!

Yes it is. How big it needs to be depends on how much you need it to make. The larger the more profit. However the larger it is the more upfront cost and if it is large enough, the more help you will need.
